Dursley News - May 2016

Gloucester Cycling Club celebrated their 125th anniversary this month by repeating their inaugural ride to Dursley. At least 50 riders made their way to the town, including many on vintage cycles or wearing old style clothing. The Pedersen bicycle from the Heritage Centre joined them near the Market House and received a lot of interest.

A short distance along the road, the extension to the swimming pool building is making rapid progress and by the end of the month was looking very nearly externally complete, just lacking a few windows. The pool has been closed for one month to allow internal modifications to be made to link the two buildings.

The end of the month and the scaffolding is down allowing the pale stonework to be on display. This provides a good match with the stone of the original swimming pool building.
